My name is Celine Chen, a local artist in Toronto. I was born in Hong Kong and proudly became a Canadian over 46 years ago. I spent most of my time in Toronto. I was born into a family with four generations of artistic vocation. My grandfather Chen Shren, one of the founders of the Lingnan School of painting had influence different generations of our family. My late mother, a student of my grandfather had influence and taught me everything about art. I was blessed with parents, husband and siblings who had given great encouragement and support to my works. My passions with art are definitely share among them. Now, at the age of 62, I’ve started to fall in love with my past in Hong Kong again. The tram, ferries, foods, markets… all these are episodes of my childhood. Illustrating these memories and feelings through pencil crayons is the passion that I wish to share with everyone at this point of my life. It is a blessing if my art can touches someone’s heart.
Colorful pencil crayons allow me to be on the bright side.
